While finger painting at the age of four, Lori discovered her love for color and cookies. Her artistic interest was nurtured by a theatrical mother known for her beautiful voice and involvement in local theater, and a well traveled father with an MBA who worked in Africa for the Peace Corp in the mid 1960's.

Lori's education from the Magnet School's furthered her talent. Koprowski graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Art from Louisiana State University in 1991. Her travels in Asia and living in the South Pacific have influenced Lori's rich, contemporary style.

Koprowski paints with oils on canvas, wood, and paper using brushes, oil sticks, and of course her fingers. By abstracting and exaggerating the female form she interlocks shape with vibrant color. Her current work is known as the Femme Series.

Koprowski's work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the Pacific Rim and in private collections around the world. Lori resides and paints on Maui, in the upcountry town of Makawao with her husband Carter, and daughters Lola and Olivia.

"Art is a way of life for me. It's about adventure and risk, which only add to my development...experimenting along the way no matter where that may
be."
